Employers - how can you help AMVC with Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance?

At AMVC, we believe that it is important for our students to be exposed to and educated about the variety of different options and pathways that are available to the when they leave school. In order to achieve this, we are committed to engaging with employers and education providers, to deliver a range of opportunities to our students.

Opportunities for employers to speak with students might include school assemblies, curriculum related careers events, employer engagement activities or opportunities to speak with students and parents on a one-to-one basic supporting GCSE, post 16 or post 18 choices.

Colleges and Training Providers - how can you work with AMVC to provide information about your courses, technical qualifications and apprenticeships?

AMVC have always welcomed representatives from further and higher education and technical colleges, together with apprenticeship providers. We value the importance of providing students with information regarding the full breadth of their career options, as well as supporting the application process and the transition process

All requests are subject to availability of rooms and in consideration of our timetabled curriculum.

In addition to attending AMVC, you are welcome to submit information electronically relating to your provision. Wherever possible, we will provide this to students as a resource within the careers library, home communication or for display on careers noticeboards.

Staff - how can you support CEAIG at AMVC?

All staff have access to a wide range of careers and work-related resources to support delivery in their subject areas and in line with the new Careers Strategy and Gatsby Benchmark 4 – linking curriculum learning to careers.

Students can use the Careers Library, either independently or as part of a lesson.

Teaching and support staff are regularly involved in supporting careers and enterprise activities during dedicated collapsed timetable events and also provide ongoing support to students with regard to progression routes and choices after school.

Tutors, in particular, have an important role in helping to raise students’ aspirations and providing information and advice about possible pathways after school. All staff should be able to signpost students to our careers and work-related resources and the Careers Advisor.
