AMVC Blood Brothers Production - February 2025

At the end of February 2025, Arthur Mellows Village College proudly presented an outstanding production of Blood Brothers, showcasing the immense talent and dedication of over 70 students involved across two casts. This remarkable performance was a true testament to the hard work, passion, and commitment from everyone involved.
The production was brought to life by a talented team of students, with musical direction from the brilliant Fiona Fewtrell (10DVE), who ensured that the musical elements were executed flawlessly. The show also benefited greatly from the support of Assistant Producer Stefano Ambrosio (11AMC/EVE), whose contribution was invaluable in bringing the entire production together.
The positive feedback received after the show was overwhelming, and it's no surprise why – the students truly shone in every aspect. From acting and singing to stage management and choreography, each cast member demonstrated incredible skill and dedication. This production highlighted the incredible depth of talent that Arthur Mellows Village College nurtures and supports.
A special shout-out must go to the set crew, who created an epic real-life set that perfectly illustrated the stark divide between Mrs. Johnstone's and Mrs. Lyons' homes. Their hard work and attention to detail brought an added layer of realism to the performance and enhanced the emotional impact of the show. The design truly stood as a testament to their creativity and technical expertise.
The production was also a community event, with MAT (Multi Academy Trust) schools visiting to support and enjoy the dress rehearsal. This added an extra layer of excitement and energy, and it was wonderful to see the collaborative spirit between the schools.
A huge thank you to all the staff, the site team, and everyone who supported the production. From costume design to lighting, sound, and front-of-house operations, the level of teamwork involved was exceptional, and it was a pleasure to see how everyone came together to make this production a resounding success.
In every possible way, Blood Brothers was a triumph for Arthur Mellows Village College, and a reminder of the extraordinary young talent in the school. We are incredibly proud of all the students involved, and the performances will no doubt stay with us for a long time to come. Congratulations to everyone who made this production so special!
